What is happening?

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ADDITION OF BRIDLEWAY FROM BLACKPOOL ROAD TO PRESTON GUILD WHEEL CYCLE ROUTE
WITH A FOOTPATH LINK TO NORTH SYKE AVENUE, LEA, PRESTON CITY
DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2024

The above Order, made on the 4 September 2024, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by recording:

1. A bridleway from an open junction with Blackpool Road (A5085) west of 1002 Blackpool Road and to the east of the safety fencing adjacent to Riversway (point A on the Order Map) and running in a generally northerly direction near the eastern edge of a field for a distance of 0.50 km to the junction with the tarmac cycle track forming part of the Preston Guild Wheel Cycle Route on the south side of Savick Brook. The route is shown between points A-B-C on the Order Map as a bold green line.
2. A footpath from the west end of North Syke Avenue, Lea in a westerly direction for a distance of 15 metres to an unmarked point on the bridleway route described above. The route is shown between points D-B on the Order Map as a bold purple line.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may also be seen free of charge at the offices of Preston City Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. A free digital copy of the Order be requested by emailing ansar.sadiq@lancashire.gov.uk or by telephoning Ansar Sadiq on 01772 532435 between 9.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing by email to ansar.sadiq@lancashire.gov.uk or by letter to Ansar Sadiq, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/888.3420/AS002) not later than 24 October 2024 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which they are made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
