What is happening?

NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(AVICE PIMBLETT WAY, LEA LANE, SANDY LANE AND WILLIAM
YOUNG WAY, PRESTON CITY AND FYLDE BOROUGH) (REVOCATION,
30, 40 AND 50MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11 September 2024 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Revoke the following:
a) The “Lancashire County Council (Various Roads, Chorley, Fylde, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale, South Ribble, West Lancashire and Wyre Boroughs) (Revocation, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph and De-Restricted Road (August No1) Speed Limits) Order 2018” insofar as it relates to Item e) of Schedule 3.
b) The “Lancashire County Council (Bartle Lane, Cottam Link Road, East West Link Road, Edith Rigby Way and Sandy Lane, Preston, Preston City, and Lea Lane South and Lea Lane North, Newton with Clifton, Fylde Borough) (30mph, 40mph and 50mph Speed Limit) Order 2023”
insofar as it relates to:
i. Items b), c) and d) of Schedule 1;
ii. Schedule 2.

2. Introduce a 30mph speed limit in the following lengths of road:
a) Lea Lane (C298), Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way to a point 20 metres south west of its junction with the centreline of Harbour Lane;
b) Lea Lane (C330), Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 556 metres in a northerly direction;
c) Lea Lane (U4584), Preston, from its junction with Lea Lane (C298) for a distance of 222 metres in a north easterly direction;
d) Sandy Lane, Preston, from its junction with William Young Way to a point 92 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Bartle Lane.

3. Introduce a 40mph Speed Limit in the following lengths of road:
a) Avice Pimblett Way, Preston, from a point 56 metres east of its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 213 metres in an easterly direction;
b) Lea Lane (C298), Preston, from a point 20 metres south west of its junction with the centreline of Harbour Lane to its junction with Deepdale Lane;
c) William Young Way, Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way to a point 289 metres south west of its junction with the centreline of Sandy Lane

4. Introduce a 50mph Speed Limit in Avice Pimblett Way, Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 56 metres in an easterly direction.

This Order will come into force on the 16 September 2024. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Fylde Borough Council, Town Hall, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1LW, and at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box
10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-
