TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2024
DUKE STREET, BEDFORD 24 – 060
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the length of Duke Street Bedford.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate a telecoms upgrade and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 22:00 to 06:00 hours from 23rd September 2024 to 27th September 2024 The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Mill Street, Gadsby Street. The proposed Order will come into operation on 23rd September 2024, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. TEMPORARY 40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council has made an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along that length of Little Barford Road, Little Barford, between Little Barford and 300m South of Glebe Farm. at a speed exceeding of 40 mph.
This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is required to facilitate traffic management for the improvements for the Black Cat roundabout and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 23rd September 2024 to 31st March 2026 The Order will come into operation on 23rd September 2024, for a period of eighteen or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. TEMPORARY REVOCATION OF 7.5 TONNES WEIGHT
RESTRICTION ORDER 2024
BARFORD ROAD LITTLE BARFORD 24 – 071
NOTICE is hereby given that Bedford Borough Council has made an order to revoke 7.5 tonne weight limit Barford Road Little Barford 24 – 071. This temporary 7.5 tonnes weight restriction is required to facilitate traffic management and is expected to be in operation 24 HOURS A DAY from the 23rd September 2024 to 31st March 2026 and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Cardington Road Bedford.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate carriage way resurfacing, concrete joint treatment, civils, lining and ironworks and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 20:00 to 06:00 hours
East bound Longholme Way roundabout to Tesco 22nd September
2024 to 28th September 2024 and West bound Tesco to Rope Walk/
Longholme Way 30th September 2024 to 9th October 2024
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Cardington Road, Fenlake Avenue, Cardington Road Roundabout, Cambridge Road, Cambridge Road Roundabout, Harrowden Road, London Road, Kingsway Roundabout, Rope Walk.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Gibbards Close Sharnbrook.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate remedial repairs to the carriageway and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 09:00 to 15:30 hours from 24th September 2024 to 26th September 2024 The proposed Order will come into operation on 24th September 2024, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024
The above Order made on 05 September 2024 under Section 119 of the
Highways Act 1980 will divert:-
i. That part of Public Footpath numbered 30 in the Parish of Dean & Shelton in the environs of “Wynstead Barn”, Shelton Road, Upper Dean commencing from a point where it has a junction with Footpaths D9 and D13 Dean & Shelton at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0437/6793 then running in a generally south-east direction for approximately 100 metres to a point where it has a junction with unaffected Footpath D20 Dean & Shelton at OSGR TL 0445/6788 to a route commencing from a point where it has a junction with that part of the unaffected Footpath D9, Dean & Shelton approximately 57 metres north-east from the residential dwelling known as “Wynstead Barn” Dean & Shelton at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0440/6798 then running in a generally south-east direction for approximately 91 metres to a point where it connects with the unaffected part of Footpath 30 at OSGR TL 0448/6795.
ii. That length of Public Footpath numbered D13 in the Parish of Dean & Shelton in the environs of “Wynstead Barn”, Shelton Road, Upper Dean commencing from a point where it has a junction with the unaffected Footpath D20 Dean & Shelton at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0441/6782 and running in a generally north north-west direction for approximately 108 metres to a point where it connects with Footpath 30, which is also subject to this Order, at OSGR TL 0438/6792 to a route commencing from a point where it has a junction with that part of the unaffected Footpath D20, Dean & Shelton approximately 108 metres south-east from the residential dwelling known as “Wynstead Barn” at (OSGR) TL 0441/6782 then running in a generally north-west direction for approximately 89 metres to a point where it connects to the unaffected Footpath D9, Dean & Shelton at (OSGR) TL 0433/6786. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Stewartby: Footpath No 5 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 0147 4305 to OS GR TL 0186 4242.
This closure is required to carry out demolition works. The closure will take place from Monday 16th September 2024.
There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.
The Order will come into operation on 16th September 2024 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
