What is happening?

SIGNALISED CROSSING NOTICE 2024

As required under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Part III Sections 23 and 25, notice is hereby given that the Norfolk County Council propose to install Puffin Pedestrian crossings to improve safety at the following locations on the C630 Southtown Road:-

(i) At a point 65 metres south of the centreline of its junction with U61060 Gordon Road; and

(ii) At a point 18 metres south of the centreline of its junction with U61072 Tollgate Road (this is an upgrade of the existing pedestrian crossing). Distances measured are to the centre point of the pedestrian crossing.

CYCLE LANE CONVERSION NOTICE 2024

The Norfolk County Council is proposing to convert an advisory Cycle Lane to a mandatory Cycle Lane under Section 65 (2) of the Highways Act 1980 to accord with its duties under Section 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 at the C630 Southtown Road (West side) - From its junction with the U16054 Boundary Road to a point 30 metres north of its junction with the U61060 Gordon Road.

The mandatory cycle lane sections are to improve the visibility for motorists at the junctions and for overall awareness of cyclists and pedestrians.

BUS STOP CLEARWAY NOTICE 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Norfolk County Council propose to relocate a bus stop clearway as defined in Schedule 7, Part 3 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016, and the associated No Waiting at Any Time restriction for any vehicles, except buses at the C630 Southtown Road as follows:-

Current location is from a point 70m south of the centreline of its junction with U61060 Gordon Road for 19m.

New location is from a point 107m south of the centreline of its junction with U61060 Gordon Road for 17m.

The bus stop clearway conforms to new regulations and will ensure unhindered access for bus services.

A copy of the plan may be viewed online at https://norfolk.citizenspace.com/. Copies may also be available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich and at the offices of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF. However, in office staffing levels have been reduced and viewing online would be recommended.
