THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

THE LEICESTER (ABBEY GATE) (TEMPORARY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicester City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be, for the following anticipated period of time to:

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a south-westbound direction on Abbey Gate in its entirety from 7.30am on Sunday 15th September 2024 until 3.00pm on Tuesday 24th December 2024.

Diversion route (westbound): Ravensbridge Drive, Anstey Lane, Glenfrith Way, Groby Road, Woodgate.

Diversion route (southbound): St Margarets Way, Vaughan Way, Burgess Street, Sanvey Gate, Northgate Street, Frog Island.

Prohibit the movement of all vehicles in a westbound direction on Bradgate Street between its junction with Abbey Gate and a point 20 metres west thereof from 7.30am on Sunday 15th September 2024 until 3.00pm on Sunday 13th October 2024.

Diversion route: Ravensbridge Drive, Blackbird Road, Bradgate Street.

This order is necessary due to highway improvement works taking place and to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public.

This Order will come into effect on the 15th of September 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the order is no longer deemed necessary, whichever is the earlier.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
