What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140152030: The City of Manchester (Travis Street, Baring Street & Temperance Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Travis Street between Fairfield Street and Carpark Entrance; Baring Street between Buxton Street and Fairfield Street & Temperance Street between Fairfield Street and Hoyle Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be signed locally when traffic management deployed. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Mayfield Depot. It is expected that the works will be in progress on various dates from 14th September 2024 to 1st January 2025. The order shall come into operation on 14th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 
ORDER NO. MCC139881334: The City of Manchester (Kingsway, Didsbury East Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Kingsway. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Kingsway, School Lane, Parrs Wood Road, Parrs Wood Avenue. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate excavating and lay HV cable to install new electrical connection to the Khandoker Restaurant. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 14th September 2024 to the 15th September 2024. The order shall come into operation on the 14th September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
