What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC140204472: The City of Manchester (Nicholas Street & Booth Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Nicholas Street from Portland Street to Mosley Street and on Booth Street from Mosley Street to Fountain Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 22nd September 2024 and the 29th September 2024. The order shall come into operation on 22nd September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 11th September 2024. 
ORDER NO. MCC140115455: The City of Manchester (Brown Street & Booth Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Brown Street from Chancery Lane to Booth Street and on Booth Street from Chancery Place to Brown Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Chancery Lane, Chancery Place, Booth Street, Clarence Street, Princess Street, Cross Street, King Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 22nd September 2024 between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00 with a back up date of 29/09/2024. The order shall come into operation on 22nd September 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
