Spalding Moor Public Footpath No 21 - Temporary Closure
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(HOLME ON SPALDING MOOR
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 21)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2024
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
proceeding whether on foot, pedal cycle or on
horseback along the entire length of Holme on
Spalding Moor Public Footpath No 21 (for a distance
of approximately 550 metres from High Street to its
southern extent, just northwest of Little End).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
construction works, to be carried out and completed
by Barratt Homes in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. There is no alternative route
for persons affected by the Order.
It was anticipated that works would be completed
within six months. However, the works have not yet
been completed and approval has been received from
the Secretary of State for Transport for an extension of
the order until 28 February 2025 or until the works
which it is proposed to carry out have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.
If the works are not completed within six months
the Order may be extended for a longer period with
the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
