Wharf Road - Temporary Road Closure & Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Wharf Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.129) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 23rd September 2024 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND
PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
WHARF ROAD
From its junction with Geoge Byng Way to its junction with Rudmore Road.
GEORGE BYNG WAY
From Portsmouth
International Port Car Park (George Byng Way) to Wharf Road.
RUDMORE ROAD
From its junction with Whale Island Way to M275 Junction A3/A2047 On Slip To
Junction 12 Of M27.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT
TURN
WHARF ROAD
Into George Byng Way (Portsmouth International Port Car Park).
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 23rd September 2024 to 23rd October 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections as notified by signage and letters to businesses and residents in advance of works taking place.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Rudmore Road to Rudmore Roundabout.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the works.
