Harrow, Multiple Road Closures Due To Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

Section 14(1)(a) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991

Temporary road closure – Carriageway Resurfacing No. 3

THE COUNCIL OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HARROW HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Management order under the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991. This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works.

  1. The order may be cited as The Harrow (Carriageway Resurfacing No. 3) Temporary Traffic Order 2024, and would be operational from 20:00 hours on 25th September 2024 and would remain in effect until 14th December 2024 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the sooner. It is anticipated that all of the work should be complete by 14th October 2024.
  2. Vehicles would be prohibited from entering or exiting the following roads, when signs are in place;

    Lowlands Road, between its junction with Roxborough Park and a point 40.0 metres south-east of its junction with Lansdowne Road;

    West Drive, between its junction with Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald and its northern extremity;

    Lakeland Close, between its junction with West Drive and its northern extremity;

    West Drive Gardens, between its junctions with West Drive and its western and eastern extremities;

    Stanmore Hill, between its junctions with Wood Land and Fallowfield;

    Ross Close, between its junction with Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald and its eastern extremity;

    Oxhey Lane service road, fronting Nos. 39 to 81 Oxhey Lane;

  4. Nothing in paragraph 2 above would apply to:-

  • any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes;
  • anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;
  • any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;
  • any vehicles used in connection with the carriageway resurfacing works;
  • any vehicles needing to gain access to properties in the closed extents as far as is practicably possible.
  • The provisions of the order will not have effect unless all the signs in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 are displayed, removed or covered, or unless at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.

  • Lowlands Road

    via Tyburn Road, Kenton Road, Sheepcote Road, Station Road, Harrow, Greenhill Way and Pinner Road and vice versa;

    Locket Road

    via High Street, Wealdstone, College Avenue and Kenton Lane and vice versa;

    Stanmore Hill

    via Church Road, Uxbridge Road, Stanmore, Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald, Brookshill, Common Road and The Common and vice versa;

    Oxford Road

    via Byron Road, Wealdstone, Masons Avenue, The Bridge and George Gange Way and vice versa;

    Palmerston Road

    via High Street, Wealdstone, Masons Avenue and Byron Road, Wealdstone and vice versa;

    Eastcote Road

    via Kingsley Road, Whitby Road and Northolt Road and vice versa;
