Somerton Road - Temporary Closure For Wales & West Utilities To Replace Gas Main

Parishes of High Ham and Huish Episcopi Temporary Closure of Somerton Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Somerton Road - from the junction with Picts Hill Road to the Bartletts Elm Roundabout, east to west only. A total distance of 632 metres. There will be a one way system in place 24 hours per day road closed east to west only (Traffic can travel out of Langport towards Somerton Only). Traffic heading into Langport will be advised to follow the signed diversion route. This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to replace gas main. The Order becomes effective on 12th September 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 9th September 2024 and last until 4th October 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 26 days.
