Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Standish No. 54 (part), 58 (part), 61A) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform use:
Standish No. 61A from Point A at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 60 & 61, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 357129 408291, to Point B at its junction with public bridleway Standish
No. 58, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356700 409067 for a distance of approximately 900 metres in a generally north westerly direction.
Standish No. 58 from Point C near Wakefield Farm, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356565 408987, to Point D at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 54, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356269 409077 for a distance of approximately 318 metres in a generally westerly direction.
Standish No. 54 from Point D at its junction with public bridleway Standish No. 58, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356269 409077, to Point E at its junction with public footpath Standish No. 85, as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 356254 409342 for a distance of approximately 263 metres in a generally northerly direction.
Alternative routes are available via the public rights of way and road networks and will be signposted on site. These public bridleways will be closed for a period of four months commencing on 30th August 2024 to safeguard the public whilst surface improvements and drainage works are carried out.

Kearsley Street – Prohibition of
Waiting and Loading Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 185) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – East side from a point 20 metres north of its junction with Kearsley Street to a point 12 metres south of its junction with Kearsley Street
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Scott Street to a point 5 metres south of its junction with Scott Street
• Gidlow Lane Wigan – east side from a point 5 metres north of its junction with Land Street to a
point 5 metres south of its junction with Land Street
• Kearsley Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane
• Scott Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane
• Land Street Wigan – both sides from its junction with Gidlow Lane to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Gidlow Lane
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:

Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:
(a) That it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004.
(b) That any requirement of the said Section 1, or of
Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 03/09/2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
Holden Walk/Billinge Road Wigan – Prohibition of Waiting and Loading Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the
Act 1984, proposes to make the
Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking)
(Wigan/Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No. 186) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• Holden Walk Douglas – both sides from its junction with Billinge Road to a point 10 metres south of its junction with Billinge Road
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading at any time on:

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Cranstal Drive Hindley Green Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Cranstal Drive Hindley Green Wigan during the period of 09:00 and 14:30 on 13/11/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Long Lane and Alder Lane.
The Order is necessary to allow BT Openreach pole testing.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Bryn Road South Ashton in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Bryn Road South Ashton in Makerfield during the period of 12:00 to 15:00 on 03/10/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Bolton Road, Wigan Road and Alexandra Road.
The Order is necessary to allow a frame and cover replacement.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Winstanley Road Ashton in Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Winstanley Road Ashton in Makerfield during the period of 09:30 and 15:30 on 15/11/2024.
The alternative route for traffic is: Garswood Road, Billinge Road, Newton Road, Main Street, Wigan Road and Ashton Road.
The Order is necessary to allow BT Openreach pole testing.

(Temporary Closure) Order 2024 Notice of Making
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant
Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Arcade Street Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2024.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Arcade Street Wigan during the period of six days commencing on 30/09/2024 to 05/10/2024.
Alternative route for traffic is: Wallgate, Library Street, Rodney Street, Harrogate Street, Darlington Street and King Street.
The Order is necessary to allow new water and electric connections.
