What is happening?

CROYDON COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

GOODWIN ROAD, VIOLET LANE & WADDON WAY, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Goodwin Road, Violet Lane and Waddon Way, Croydon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, the roads will be closed as detailed below:

  • Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as specified below.
    • Waddon Way Closure (Northbound) – Via Purley Way, Denning Avenue, Warham Road, Haling Park Road, and Waddon Way.
    • Waddon Way Closure (Southbound) – Via Purley Way, Edgehill Road, and Pampisford Road.
    • Goodwin Road Closure: Via Waddon Way, Haling Park Road, Warham Road, Denning Avenue, Purley Way, and Waddon Way.
    • Violet Lane Closure: Via Violet Gardens, and Goodwin Road.

  • The Order will come into operation on 19 September 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out as shown above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.

  • These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

    (b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER

    THORNTON HEATH HIGH STREET – FESTIVAL

    ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

    1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate a festival in Thornton Heath High Street they intend to make a Traffic Order the effect of which will be to: (a) temporarily suspend parking and introduce ‘at any time’ waiting and loading restrictions on the south-west side of Bensham Manor Road, and on both sides of the High Street, Thornton Heath. (b) temporarily close streets to vehicular traffic as detailed in Schedule 1 to this Notice. (c) revoke one-way working in the roads listed in Schedule 2 to this Notice.

    2. The Order will come into effect on 08 September 2024 and will remain in force for one day.

    3. Whilst the prohibitions remain in force, the alternative route for diverted traffic will be:

      (a) in the case of High Street, Thornton Heath, via Whitehorse Road, Bensham Manor Road, and Brigstock Road, or via Norwich Road, St. Paul’s Road, Parchmore Road, Brigstock Road, Bensham Manor Road and Whitehorse Road.

      (b) in the case of Grange Park Road, via Buller Road, Whyte Road, and Grange Park Road.

      (c) in the case of HGVs, via Whitehorse Lane, South Norwood Hill, Beulah Hill, Crown Lane, Streatham Common North, Streatham High Road, Green Lane and Parchmore Road.

    4. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

      (a) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.

      (b) A vehicle involved in the said event.

      (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
