DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES – SCHEDULE 239

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (Amendment No. K24) Order 20– The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No. K25) Order 20–

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  1. The general effect of the Orders would be to: a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 34 Blackhorse Lane, Croydon, No. 33 Cobden Road, South Norwood, No. 17 Leander Road, Thornton Heath, No. 16 Malden Avenue, South Norwood, No. 37 Malvern Road, Thornton Heath, No. 19 Miller Road, Croydon, No. 90 Priory Road, Croydon, No. 66 Richmond Road, Thornton Heath, Nos. 9 and 16 Rigby Close, Croydon, No. 51 Stoats Nest Road, Coulsdon, No. 163 Sumner Road South, Croydon, and No. 71 Warbank Crescent, Croydon. b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

c) Amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

  • A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at Access Croydon, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk).

  • Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Parking Design Section, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA or by emailing the Parking Design Team (email address above) quoting the reference: PD/CH/K24 & K25 by 26 September 2024.

    PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD CARE BAY MAYFIELD ROAD, SOUTH CROYDON

    The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No.22) Order 2024

    The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (No.22) Order 2024

    1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council has made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers.

    2. The general effect of the Orders will be: a) To introduce a Neighbourhood Care Parking Bay outside a new children’s home at No. 12 Mayfield Road, South Croydon. The parking place will be in operation ‘at any time’ throughout the week and the use of the parking place will be restricted to passenger vehicles displaying a Neighbourhood Care permit issued by the Council. b) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

    3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 09 September 2024 and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, by appointment with the Parking Design Team, at Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design).

    4. Copies of the Orders may also be obtained from Parking Design, 3rd Floor Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA (email: parking.design@croydon.gov.uk).

    5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

    ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14, AS AMENDED

    TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR OR PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AND TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS

    1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate essential highway maintenance works that may take place within the London Borough of Croydon, they have amended “The Croydon (Highways Maintenance Works) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order) 2024” to include the streets listed in the Schedule to this notice, and to allow the following measures to be introduced in those streets, for which Croydon Council are the highway authority, providing that the relevant permissions have been granted by the Council: a) temporarily introduce one-way traffic for the duration of the works in those streets or lengths of streets. b) temporarily close to vehicular traffic those streets or lengths of streets. c) temporarily close any adjoining streets to vehicular traffic where this is considered necessary to facilitate the work in progress. d) temporarily introduce banned turns, footway closures or waiting and loading restrictions at any time should this be required and e) temporarily suspend bus lanes/stops, cycle lanes, parking bays or any other traffic restriction as required where this is considered necessary to facilitate the works.

    2. Wherever the work happens to be in progress, no person may cause or permit any vehicle to:

      (a) proceed in a direction other than that indicated by a traffic sign, or

      (b) proceed in any street or length of street which may at the time be subject to a road closure until the completion of the work allows.

    3. Whilst the provisions of the amended Order remain in force, waiting or loading by vehicles would be prohibited at any time in those streets or lengths of streets specified where work is in progress. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction on waiting imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

    4. All works requiring a road closure will be advertised complete with any diversion route on our website at the address below. Planned closures and diversion routes are also shown in the Schedule to this Notice.

    5. Frontages affected by the above restrictions will receive notification letters approximately two weeks before any work commences.

    6. The amended Order will come into operation on the 09 September 2024 and will remain in force until 10 October 2025, 18 months from the operational date of the original Order. (Note: The provisions of the Order will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016. Access for frontagers would be maintained whilst the work proceeds).
