What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

BREACH LANE, UPCHURCH, ME9 7PB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow drainage improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Breach Lane, Upchurch, from 2nd October 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, between the hours 19:00 and 06:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 Hartlip Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, Oak Lane, The Street, Forge Lane, Halstow Lane and Breach Lane.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

CALLAWAYS LANE, NEWINGTON, ME9 7LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow renewal works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Callaways Lane, Newington, on or after 18th September 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bull Lane, Playstool Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HIGHSTED ROAD, SITTINGBOURNE, ME9 0PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Highsted Road, Sittingbourne, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Stockers Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Highsted Road, Brenchley Road, Bell Road, Woodstock Road, Cromers Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HOGBENS HILL, SELLING, ME13 9QU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow manhole cover and frame works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hogbens Hill, Selling, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 1st October 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Peacock Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Selling Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road, Newhouse Lane, Winding Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HORSHAM LANE, UPCHURCH, ME8 7XD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Horsham Lane, Upchurch, from 30th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Wallbridge Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Otterham Quay Lane, A2 Moor Street, A2 London Road, Breach Lane, The Street, Halstow Lane, Forge Lane, Horsham Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

JADE CLOSE, SITTINGBOURNE, ME10 5AZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Jade Close, Sittingbourne, from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

THROWLEY ROAD, THROWLEY, ME13 0PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Throwley Road, Throwley, from 1st October 2024, with estimated completion by 2nd October 2024, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from 50m north of the junction with Almshouse Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Throwley Road, Housefield Road, Broomfield Lane, Faversham Road, A252 Charing Hill, The Wynd, Bowl Road, Stalisfield Road, Throwley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
