What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 CANTERBURY AREA

A28 MILL ROAD, STURRY, CT2 0BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Mill Road, Sturry, from 23.30 hours on 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 17th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A291 Sturry Hill, Herne Bay Road, Calcott Hill, Canterbury Road, Herne Street, Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way, Westbound Slip Onto Wraik Hill Roundabout From A299, A290 Clapham Hill, Pean Hill, Honey Hill, Blean Common, Blean Hill, Tile Kiln Hill, Whitstable Road, St Thomas Hill, Whitstable Road, London Road, A2050 Rheims Way, A28 Pin Hill, Rhodaus Town, Upper Bridge Street, Lower Bridge Street, Broad Street, Military Road, Tourtel Road, Sturry Road, A28 Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained by use of a taxi during the works.

A290 ST DUNSTANS STREET, CANTERBURY, CT2 8AB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow footway widening and junction amendment works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A290 St Dunstans Street, Canterbury, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 25th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in a South easterly direction only, from the junction with North Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic wishing to travel in a South easterly direction is via B2248 Station Road West, St Stephens Road and North Lane.

Traffic travelling in a North westerly direction will be unaffected.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

B2205 CANTERBURY ROAD, HERNE BAY, CT6 5UB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2205 Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, from 22.00 hours on 2nd October 2024, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 3rd October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2205 Canterbury Road, High Street, Avenue Road, Sea Street, Greenhill Bridge Road, A2990 Thanet Way, B2205 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

BLACK ROBIN LANE & THE STREET, KINGSTON & RECTORY LANE, BARHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Black Robin Lane & The Street, Kingston & Rectory Lane, Barham, from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

Black Robin Lane, Kingston

Black Robin Lane will be closed from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024.

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 Dover Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic wishing to access Black Robin Lane from A2 Dover Road is via A2 Dover Road, A2 from J A260 to J A2050 Patrixbourne NW and Bonny Bush Hill.

The alternative route for any through traffic wishing to access the A2 Dover Road is via Black Robin Lane, Bonny Bush Hill and A2 from J A260 to J A2050 Patrixbourne NW.

The Street, Kingston

The Street will be closed from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Westwood Road, Pheasant Hall Road, Crows Camp Road, Frog Lane, Bonny Bush Hill and vice versa.

Rectory Lane, Barham

Rectory Lane will be closed from 17th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Little Cote’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rectory Lane, Old Dover Road, Gravel Castle Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

COCKERING ROAD, THANINGTON WITHOUT. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cockering Road, Thanington Without, from 30th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Milton Manor Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cockering Road, Strangers Lane, A28 Ashford Road and Milton Manor Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

CULPEPPER CLOSE, CANTERBURY, CT2 7DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Culpepper Close, Canterbury, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

GODDEN ROAD, CANTERBURY, CT2 7DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Godden Road, Canterbury, from 16th September 2024, with estimated completion by 18th September 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Montford Close and the junction with Tunstall Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HAWKS LANE, CANTERBURY, CT1 2FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hawks Lane, Canterbury, from 5th October 2024, with estimated completion by 6th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 9a, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HOLLOW LANE, CANTERBURY, CT1 3SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hollow Lane, Canterbury, from 1st October 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with A28 Wincheap, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hollow Lane, Homersham, A28 Thanington Road, Wincheap and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

JERSEY LANE, PETHAM, CT4 5QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Jersey Lane, Petham, from 16th September 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of ‘Little Jersey’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Watery Lane, Town Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

LYTHAM AVENUE, HERNE BAY, CT6 7NR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Lytham Avenue, Herne Bay, from 3rd October 2024, with estimated completion by 7th October 2024, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

MILL LANE, BRIDGE, CT4 5LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow new service works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Bridge, on or after 16th September 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Brickfield Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Mill Lane, Western Avenue, High Street, Brewery Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

OATEN HILL PLACE, CANTERBURY, CT1 3HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow blockage clearance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Oaten Hill Place, Canterbury from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 2nd October 2024, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

REGENT STREET, WHITSTABLE, CT5 1HX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY ONE-WAY SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Regent Street, Whitstable, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 74, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The One-Way Order on St Peter’s Road will be suspended for the duration of the works, between the junctions with Regent Street and Victoria Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Regent Street, St Peter’s Road, Albert Street, Acton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

ST GEORGES LANE, CANTERBURY, CT1 2NH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow manhole cover works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Georges Lane, Canterbury, from 23:00 hours on 1st October 2024, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 2nd October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Watling Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

WENTWORTH GARDENS, HERNE BAY, CT6 5FT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Wentworth Gardens, Herne Bay, from 3rd October 2024, with estimated completion by 7th October 2024, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

WESTGATE COURT AVENUE, CANTERBURY, CT2 8JF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow duct works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Westgate Court Avenue, Canterbury, from 18th September 2024, with estimated completion by 24th September 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 25, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

WILLOW CLOSE, CANTERBURY, CT2 7PR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Willow Close, Canterbury, from 30th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
