Dorset - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works.

What is happening?

DORSET COUNCIL

Temporary Closure of Horton Road, Woodlands

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Horton Road, Woodlands between C2 and Kings Lane, a distance of approximately 2250 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16th September 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd September 2024.

This Order will enable Stabilised Pavements Ltd safe access to carry out carriageway maintenance works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.

Temporary Traffic Management Order of Poole Road, Upton

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16th September 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19th December 2024.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out highway improvement works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary southbound road closure on Poole Road, Upton from Upton Gateway Roundabout to the junction of Poole Road access to Upton Country Park as indicated by signs on site;

[ii] To impose a temporary road closure overnight on Poole Road, Upton as indicated by signs on site;

[iii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Poole Road, Upton.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Additionally, temporary traffic signals are anticipated to be in place on Poole Road, Upton to maintain access and egress for Upton Country Park. Temporary Traffic Management Order of High Street, Lytchett Matravers

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation between 09:00 - 16:00 on 16th September 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th September 2024.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[i] To impose a temporary road closure on High Street, Lytchett Matravers as indicated by signs on site.

[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along High Street, Lytchett Matravers.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
