Northumberland, Temporary Road Closure Due To Civils & Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) B6318 MILITARY ROAD, CORBRIDGE, THE B6321 CORBRIDGE TO MILITARY ROAD, CORBRIDGE AND THE C247 STELLING HALL TO MILITARY ROAD, NEWTON (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council Intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the B6318 Military Road from its junction with the U9022 to its junction with the C341 for a length of 940 metres, the B6321 Corbridge to Military Road from its junction with the B6318 heading south west for a length of 600 metres and the C247 Stelling Hall to Military Road from its junction with the B6318 heading south for a length of 170 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 26th September 2024 until the 26th March 2025. It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 26" September 2024 until the 4* October 2024 between the hours of 8:00 until 17:00 during this period however the Order will remain in place until 26th March 2025.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the B6318, the A68, the A69, the B6528, the B6318 and vice versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council, because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, namely civils and resurfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
