Thornton Road, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Construction Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL THORNTON ROAD, DENHOLME TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council by reason of construction works proposed to be executed on or near Thornton Road, Denholme intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of Thornton Road from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Brighouse Road.
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works proposed to be carried out on the said length of road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the proposed Order will be available via A629 Halifax Road, A629 Smithy Hill, right onto Brighouse Road and vice versa.
Alternative routes for HGV vehicular traffic affected by the proposed Order will be available via A644 Brighouse and Denholme Road, A644 Albert Road, Right onto A647 High Street, A647 West End, A647 Ford Hill, A647 Halifax Road, A647 Priestley Hill (into Calderdale) A647 Halifax Road, A647 Queensbury Road, A647 Boothtown Road, A647 Haley Hill Right onto A58 Burdock Way, Orange Street Roundabout, right onto A629 Ovenden Road, A629 Keighley Road and A629 Causeway Foot and vice versa.
The proposed Order will come into effect at 08:00 hours on the 16th September 2024 and remain in force until 18:00 hours on the 15th November 2024 (although the closure can remain in force for up to eighteen months if necessary).
