Floaters Hill, Temporary Road closure Due To Works On The Road
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (A1052 Floaters Mill, Woodstone to Bournmoor) (Temporary Road) Order 2024
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to Prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 458 metre length of A1052 between its junction with B1284 Lumley New Road and the roundabout junction with the C8b at Bournmoor.
It will also be necessary to temporarily suspend the County Council of Durham (One-way Traffic) Order 1966 on C8b between B1284 and A1052 to maintain access and egress to Old Station Close.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the southern side of the closure from A1052 westerly on B1284 Lumley New Road, north on A167 to Blind Lane Interchange then south easterly on A183 onto A1052 to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The works are expected to commence on Wednesday 25/9/2024 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 nights over a 7 night period from 7pm - 6am (no works Saturday or Sunday nights). On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
