What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RADIO 2 IN THE PARK, VARIOUS ROADS, PRESTON CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any
motor vehicle (except for event participants) from proceeding over the lengths of highway stated in the
schedule to this order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the lengths of highway stated in schedule 1
in the schedule to this order.
2. The temporary prohibitions in schedule 1 in the schedule to this order will be operative on dates and
times stated within schedule 1.
3. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting, loading and unloading at any time over the
lengths of highway stated in schedule 2 in the schedule to this order.
4. The temporary prohibitions in schedule 2 in the schedule to this order will be operative from 0800 hours
on Friday 6th September 2024 until 2359 hours on Sunday 8th September 2024.
5. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting at any time, except for those with the correctly
displayed Radio 2 issued resident parking permit within the lengths of highway indicated in schedule 3
in the schedule to this order.
6. The temporary prohibitions in schedule 3 in the schedule to this order will be operative from 0800 hours
on Saturday 7th September 2024 until 2359 hours on Sunday 8th September 2024.
7. Existing residents permit schemes on Ripon Street, Havelock Street, College Court, Haysworth Street
will not be affected by anything in Article 3.
The prohibitions stated in this order will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of
the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
2016. Road closure time may vary on the dates specified, as the organiser is endeavouring to avoid as
much disruption as possible.
Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be signed locally.
Access will be maintained via marshal points for residents and businesses.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to enable the holding of Radio 2 in the park.
