NOTICE is hereby given that the above named Council propose to make these Orders under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53,101 and 102 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended) and the Bus Lane Contraventions (Approved Local Authorities) (England) Order 2005 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers the effect of which will be as follows:
1. To vary waiting restrictions on lengths of ALCESTER STREET, BIRCHALL STREET, BROOM STREET, CHEAPSIDE, LOMBARD STREET, MOESLEY ROAD, RAVENHURST STREET, & REA STREET, HIGHGATE & BORDESLEY.
2. To introduce lengths of One Way Traffic on
a. REA STREET (northbound between Moseley Street and Cheapside) and (southbound between Bradford Street and Cheapside) with exception for Pedal Cycles.
b. CHEAPSIDE (westbound) Moseley Road to Alcester Street, Lombard Street to Birchall Street & Rea Street to a point east of the junction with Barford Street. (eastbound) from Rea Street to Birchall Street, Lombard Street to Alcester Street.
c. BIRCHALL STREET (southbound) Cheapside to Moseley Street and (northbound) Cheapside to Bradford Street.
d. LOMBARD STREET (northbound) Cheapside to Moseley Street and (southbound) Cheapside to Bradford Street.
e. ALCESTER STREET (southbound) Cheapside to Moseley Street and (northbound) Cheapside to Bradford Street
f. RAVENHURST STREET from Moseley Road to Brook Street
g. BROOM STREET from Ravenhurst Street to Bradford Street
h. MOSELEY ROAD (northbound) between Moseley Street and Cheapside) and (southbound) between Bradford Street and Cheapside) with exception for Buses.
3. To introduce Contra Flow Bus Lanes on MOSELEY ROAD (with exception for Licensed Taxis & Pedal Cycles)
a. From Cheapside to Moseley Street
b. From Cheapside to Bradford Street
4. To introduce lengths of Bus Only Road on BARFORD STREET
a. From the north side of the junction with Cheapside for a distance of approximately 10 metres
b. From the junction with Bradford Street for a distance of approximately 10 metres
5. To introduce Contra Flow Cycle Lanes on REA STREET
a. From Cheapside to Bradford Street
b. From Cheapside to Moseley Street
6. To introduce Compulsory Left Turns (with exception for Pedal Cycles) on
a. CHEAPSIDE at its junctions with Birchall Street & Alcester Street
b. LOMBARD STREET at its junctions with Cheapside
c. REA STREET at its junctions with Cheapside
7. To introduce No Left Turn on BRADFORD STREET at its junctions with Barford Street (with exception for Buses, Licensed Taxis & Pedal Cycles)
8. To introduce No Right Turns on
a. MOSELEY ROAD at the junctions with Cheapside
b. MOSELEY STREET at its junction with Barford Street
c. HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
INSTALLATION OF SPEED HUMPS REA STREET & CHEAPSIDE, BORDESLEY & HIGHGATE
NOTICE is also hereby given that Birmingham City Council (“the Council”) proposes under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 to construct speed cushions up to a maximum height of 75mm, 2500mm in length at the approximate locations specified in the Schedule to this Notice, for the purpose of reducing speed.
