Cannon Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Use By Vehicles
What is happening?
CITY OF BRISTOL
(CANNON STREET, CITY CENTRE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Cannon Street which extends from Marlborough Street to its closed end.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 23rd September 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 23rd September 2024 and 29th September 2024 and then between 2nd April 2025 and 16th April 2025).

(PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 308 (ST. JAMES PARADE) AND ST. JAMES BARTON ROUNDABOUT FOOTHPATHS, CITY CENTRE, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY FOOT PASSENGERS AND PEDAL CYCLES) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be:-
1. to close, temporarily, to pedestrians that length of public right of way as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and
2. to close, temporarily, to pedestrians and pedal cycles those lengths of footpath as specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the public right of way and footpath and will be operative from 23rd September 2024 for a maximum period of six months.

(HIGHBURY ROAD, BEDMINSTER, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY TRAFFIC) (NO. 2) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be:-
1. to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Highbury Road which extends from Marksbury Road to Parson Street; and
2. to suspend, temporarily, when appropriate signs are covered, the existing one way traffic working in a north easterly direction in Highbury Road, so as to allow access and egress for works vehicles.
Exemption will be provided in the Order for vehicles requiring necessary access to premises situated on, adjacent to or accessible only from that closed length of road as specified above.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 7th October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 7th October 2024 and 10th October 2024).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Parson Street, Somermead, Marksbury Road.
(AVON STREET, ST. PHILIPS, BRISTOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) (NO. 2) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Avon Street which extends from Oxford Street south eastwards for 143 metres.
The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 4th October 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Avon Street (part unaffected), New Kingsley Road, Horton Street, Midland Road, Kingsland Road, Days Road, St. Philips Causeway, Albert Road, Avon Street (part unaffected) and vice versa
