What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Footpath 21, Margaretting) (Maldon Road Level Crossing) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Further to the notices under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) commenced on 02 August 2024 and 22 August 2024.
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(as amended)
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 21, Margaretting (Maldon Road Level Crossing) in the City of Chelmsford, from the fence line (Network Rail boundary) over the Level Crossing for approximately 30 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 12 September 2024 for 6 months or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required due to the likelihood of danger to the public due to insufficient warning time to safely cross the railway at this location, The alternative route will be via Maldon Road, Footpath 20, B1002 and the A12 Slip Road, vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12 September 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Baddow Road, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Baddow Road, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 70m south east of its junction with Army And Navy Roundabout for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA001WF0KF28Y – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Baddow Road, Beehive Lane, Stock Road, Galleywood Road, Wood Street, Wood Street Roundabout, Princes Road, Princes Road Roundabout, Van Diemans Road, Army And Navy Roundabout and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Lower Stock Road, West Hanningfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Lower Stock Road, West Hanningfield in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 550m north east of its junction with Downham Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th October 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit
(BC411SA001WFLT9D4G – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while poling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Lower Stock Road, Downham Road, Stock Road, Ship Road, Kents Farm Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(The Street, Galleywood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of The Street, Galleywood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 20m north of its junction with Watchouse Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th October 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2366344 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pothole repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via The Street, Stock Road, Watchouse Road, Ponds Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Road, Little Dunmow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Little Dunmow in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 285m east then northeast of its junction with The Street to its junction with Ainsworth Drive a distance of approximately 460m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th September 2024 for 65 days (There will be no road closure in situ between 2nd October 2024 and 8th October 2024 to accommodate other works), or where stated on a valid permit (ZP010N0023760-1-CF-EUL-4 – Gas Transportation Company).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Gas Transportation Company. An alternative route is available via Station Road, Braintree Road, Dunmow Road, Braintree Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 29th August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
