What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
(MOONWALK 2024) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION
AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/159
The Council, with the consent of Scottish Ministers, has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate the holding of the Moonwalk 2024 event, no person shall: (a) cause or permit any motor vehicle to enter,
proceed or wait in or on any part of the lengths of road specified in Sch 1, where prohibitions apply to roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle on the sections
of roads specified in Sch 2, where prohibitions apply to both sides of the roads in their entirety unless otherwise stated.
The following restriction shall be suspended between 23:00hrs on 7/9/24 & 10:00hrs on 8/9/24: prohibition of motor vehicles on Silverknowes Rd & West Shore Rd, to allow full access to Moonwalk support vehicles in case of
emergency. Existing restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in Sch 2. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Dalkeith Rd, Pleasance, St Mary’s St, Canongate, Abbeyhill, Abbey Mount, Montrose Ter, London Rd & Willowbrae Rd (Holyrood Park area); &
Queensferry Rd, Craigcrook Rd & Strachan Rd (Ravelston Dykes Rd). The order shall have effect during the hours and on the dates specified in the Schedules. SCHEDULE 1
PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES (all with the exception of event vehicles): (A) from 22:30hrs on 7/9/24 to 01:45hrs on 8/9/24 on: (i) Holyrood Gait; (ii) Horse Wynd; (iii) Queen’s Drv; & (iv) Duke’s Walk; & (B) from 23:30hrs on 7/9/24 to 04:00hrs on 8/9/24 on Ravelston Dykes Rd. SCHEDULE 2
PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING & UNLOADING: from 08:00hrs on 7/9/24 to 18:00hrs on 8/9/24 on: (i) Holyrood Gait; (ii) Queen’s Drv, both sides: (1) from its jnct with Holyrood Gait, north-eastwards to the roundabout leading to the north to south section of Queen’s Drv & Horse Wynd;
& (2) from the north-west and north-east kerblines of the roundabout leading to the north to south section of Queen’s Drv & Horse Wynd, generally northwards for 135m; & (iii) Horse Wynd.
