ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ORDER 2024

FOSTER WAY, AND NEALE WAY WOOTTON FOOTPATH 24 – 058

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along the footpath of Foster Way and Neale Way , Wootton.

These temporary footpath closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas mains replacement is carried out and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

These temporary footpath closures are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 16th September 2024 to 14th October 2024 as and when required during this period.

Pedestrians affected by the proposed Order should follow the signs on site as appropriate.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 16th September 2024 for a period of six months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2009 (AMENDMENT NO.65) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 22nd August 2024 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:

Effect of the Order:

1.  To extend an existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction (double yellow lines) on the following length of road:-

A   West End, Elstow

(i)    On its south-eastern kerb, from a point approx. 1.8 metres north-east of the projected south-western boundary of no. 12 West End (the end of the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction) extending for a distance of approx. 6 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 27th August 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

High Court Challenge: Any person who desires to question the validity of this Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date of this Notice, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL PROPOSE TO FORMALISE AN EXISTING DISABLED PARKING BAY IN BEAUVAIS SQUARE, SHORTSTOWN

Reason for Proposal:

Bedford Borough Council propose to formalise an existing disabled persons parking bay in Beauvais Square, Shortstown.

Effect of the Order:

1. To revoke 3 restricted parking areas as detailed below:

3. To formalise an existing disabled persons parking bay at the following location: A Beauvais Square, Shortstown

A Beauvais Square, Shortstown 
(i) On the north-western kerb of the northern leg, in the parking bay, extending from a point approx. 84.3 metres south-west of its junction with Rochester Way for a distance of approx. 6.5 metres in a south-westerly direction.

Relevant proposal documents may be examined during normal office hours at Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP. They will also be available for viewing on the council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk/proposedtro. The documents will be placed on deposit until 6 weeks after the Order is made or until it is decided not to continue with the proposal. Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 2nd September 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

Effect of the Order:

1. To  introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:

A   Stagsden Road, Bromham

(i)    On its north-western side, extending from the centre of Berry Drive for a distance of approx. 20 metres in a south-westerly direction.

B    Berry Drive, Bromham

(i)    On both sides, extending from its junction with Stagsden Road for a distance of approx. 14 metres in a north-westerly direction.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 2nd September 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

Effect of the Order:

1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:

A  Stanley Street, Kempston

(i)    On its north-eastern kerb, extending from the north-western side of Howard Street for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a north-westerly direction.

B   Howard Street, Kempston

(i)    On its north-western kerb, extending from the north-eastern side of Stanley Street for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a north-easterly direction.

Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 2nd September 2024 or as soon as practicable after this date.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

BEDFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL

(SHARNBROOK: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 15)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of Sharnbrook: Part of Bridleway No 15 which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 9985 5937 (Map point A) to OS GR TL 9966 5918 (Map point B).

This temporary closure is required for an installation of a new sewer main. The closure is expected to take place from Monday 23rd September 2024 for up to two months.

There is no alternative route for horse riders and cyclists.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be to proceed from OS GR TL 9985 5937 (Map point A) to the High Street in a north westerly direction to its junction with Home Close OS GR TL 9962 5958 (Map point C) and to follow in a southerly direction to Wellpond Close. Proceed in a south eastly direction along to Norman Road OS GR TL 9962 5937 (Map point D) and join Footpath No 9 south eastly to OS GR TL 9957 5923 (Map point E). Follow Footpath No 16 OS GR TL 9966 5918 (Map point B). The proposed Order will come into operation on 23rd September 2024 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the bridleway have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
