The M62 Motorway (Junction 23) - Road Maintenance Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 23)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway, in Kirklees, to enable parapet, barrier and lighting works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 6am on Monday 30 September for 6 months, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to impose, for 24 hours a day, a temporary 30mph speed restriction, and close between 6am and 8pm the M62 eastbound exit slip road at Junction 23 (Outlane). During the closure, a suitably signed alternative route will be available at all times.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 29 September 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
The project manager for this scheme is Gordon Behrens. For enquiries, please contact the National Highways Customer Contact Centre on 03001235000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk
