KIRKLEES COUNCIL

(TRAFFIC REGULATION) (CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ON-STREET PARKING

PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING

RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-

BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO.

11)ORDER 2024

HEALEY LANE AND THROSTLE NEST, BATLEY

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Batley area of the Kirklees district, will be to amend the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 so as to:

• Prohibit the waiting at any time on lengths of the following roads:

1.  Healey Lane, Batley

2.  Throstle Nest, Batley

REASON: It is proposed to introduce No Waiting at Any Time parking restrictions to prevent parking at strategic points on Healey Lane and on one side of Throstle Nest from the junction of Healey Lane. These proposals are designed to help maintain visibility and access at these locations and help pedestrians using the traffic island to cross to be clearly seen. These proposals are designed to be advertised alongside another order to introduce traffic calming features in this area to help maintain slower traffic speeds and improve road safety for all road users.

A copy of this draft Order, together with the Order Map Schedule showing the affected lengths of road and a detailed statement of reasons for proposing the Order may be inspected at:-
