Main Street - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OFYORKSHIRE COUNCIL (MAIN STREET, CHERRY BURTON (PART)) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
East Riding ofYorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Main Street, Cherry Burton between B 1248 Cherry Burton crossroads and Highgate/ Bishop Burton Road junction on Monday 9 September 2024 until Wednesday 11 September 2024 and Friday 18 October 2024 until Tuesday 22 October 2024.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed carriageway repair works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22 October 2024.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via C61 Cherry Burton Road,A1079 Beverley Road,A1035 Dog Kennel Lane, B1248 Malton Road and return. The road will be open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure only.
The Order will commence 9 September 2024 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
