What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN WHEATHAMPSTEAD, AYOT ST PETER, AYOT GREEN, HATFIELD AND WELWYN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Waterend Lane, Wheathampstead/Ayot St Peter and Ayot Green Lane, Ayot Green from its junction with B653 Marford Road north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with B197 Great North Road, a distance of approximately 3168m.
An alternative route will be via B653 (Marford Road/Cory Wright Way), Codicote Road, St Albans Road, B656 (High Street/Codicote Road/Link Road/Church Street), A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road and B197 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Digswell Hill).
2. that length of Grubbs Lane, Hatfield from its northernmost junction with Woodside Lane south eastwards to its junction with B158 Kentish Lane, a distance of approximately 1689m.
An alternative route will be via Woodside Lane, A1000 Great North Road and B158 Kentish Lane.
3. that length of Homerswood Lane, Welwyn from its junction with Whitehill south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Ayot St Peter Road, a distance of approximately 293m.
An alternative route will be via Whitehill, School Lane and Ayot St Peter Road.
4. that length of Westfield, Brookmans Park/Grubbs Lane, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Great North Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 978m.
An alternative route will be via A1000 Great North Road, B158 Kentish Lane and Grubbs Lane.
5. that length of Whitehill, Welwyn from its junction with School Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Homerswood Lane, a distance of approximately 1280m.
An alternative route will be via School Lane, Ayot St Peter Road and Homerswood Lane.
6. that length of Woodside Lane, Hatfield from its junction with A1000 Great North Road northwards and north westwards to its junction with Wildhill Road, a distance of approximately 1372m. An alternative route will be via A1000 Great North Road, B158 Kentish Lane, Wild Hill and Wildhill Road.
7. that length of Woodside Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Grubbs Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 305m.
An alternative route will be via Wildhill Road, Wild Hill, B158 Kentish Lane and A1000 Great North Road. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BULLS LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bulls Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Bell Lane north westwards, south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 1427m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Bell Lane, A1000 Great North Road, Dixons Hill Road, Station Road and Bulls Lane. ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARMER GREEN LANE, DIGSWELL) ORDER NO.3 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make
an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of
Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from a point in line with the southern
boundary of No.44 Harmer Green Lane north eastwards for a
distance of approximately 100m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Harmer Green Lane, Adele Avenue,
New Road and Harmer Green Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed
on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN KIMPTON, PETERS GREEN AND CODICOTE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-1. that length of Kimpton Road (West), Kimpton/Kimpton Road, Peters Green from its junction with Luton Road north westwards to its junction with The Green, a distance of approximately 1457m. An alternative route will be via Luton Road, Fox Hill, Whiteway Bottom Lane, Whiteway Bottom, Dane Street, Chiltern Green Road and The Green.
2. that length of Kimpton Road, Codicote from its junction with Heath Lane north westwards to its junction with Green Lane, a distance of approximately 1028m.
An alternative route will be via Heath Lane, The Grove, Whitwell Road, Codicote Road, B651 (High Street/Horn Hill/Hitchin Road/High Street) and Kimpton Road (East).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BOOTHS CLOSE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Booths Close, Hatfield from a point 45m north east of its junction with Holloways Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However
the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRADSHAWS, HATFIELD) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bradshaws, Hatfield from its junction with Furzen Crescent south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Bishops Rise, a distance of approximately 383m ("the Road"), except for access. An alternative route will be via Furzen Crescent and Bishops Rise. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 September 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. ROAD HUMP NOTICE (GOLDSMITH WAY, HATFIELD) 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes, under sections 90A - 90F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, to install a raised speed table in that length of Goldsmith Way, Hatfield as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

SCHEDULE: Raised speed table - that section of road listed below and as set out in the scheme plan - Part of Goldsmith Way - from a point 40 metres north east of a point in line with the south west facia wall of Dragonfly House south eastwards for 5 metres.
The above raised speed table will be constructed at a height of approximately 75mm above the existing carriageway with on/off gradients of approximately 1:10. Consulting on this scheme is a statutory duty of the County Council.
