What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
PARISH OF ANCROFT
RESTRICTED BYWAY NUMBER 28
(TEMPORARY BYWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use of Parish of Ancroft Restricted Byway No 28, in the County of Northumberland.
The route is described as follows:
From the eastern end of the U19 road 540 metres east of Cheswick Farm Cottages in an easterly direction for a distance of 80 metres crossing the East Coast Main Line Railway overbridge to a point 485 metres north-west of Dowie House on the eastern side of the East Coast Main Line Railway.
There is no alternative route.
The Order is to be effective from the 22nd September 2024 until 23rd September 2024.

The closure has been requested by Centurion Traffic on behalf of Network Rail in the interests of public safety to facilitate a detailed bridge examination.
