Gregson Lane -Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(GEGSON LANE, WALTON LE DALE, SOUTH RIBBLE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway;
Gregson Lane, Walton Le Dale from a point 200 metres west of its merging with Gregson Lane, Brindle.
Gregson Lane, Brindle from its merging with Gregson Lane, Walton Le Dale to its junction with Friths Court.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1500 hours on Thursday 12th September 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Gregson Lane - Gowans Lane – Windmill Lane – Sandy Lane B5256 – Hoghton Lane A675 – The Straits A675 – Hoghton Lane A675 – Gregson Lane and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow safety for overhead structure works to be carried out.
