What is happening?

The County Council of Durham
(A182 Seaham Link Road, Seaham Garden Village, Seaham)
(Temporary Speed Restriction) Order 2024

The Council on 13/9/2024 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to temporarily prohibit all vehicular traffic on A182 Seaham link road from travelling at a speed in excess of: 30 miles per hour from the existing de-restriction/50 mph signs east of A19/A182 Cold Hesledon Roundabout and extending eastwards for a distance of 1200 metres; and 50 miles per hour from the eastern point above and extending eastwards for a distance of 500 metres, to enable roundabout modification works to be undertaken. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 20/9/2024 and are anticipated to be completed by the end of March 2025. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
