What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(GLASGOW ROAD AREA, SIMONSIDE, JARROW SCHOOL STREETS)
ORDER 2024

On 21 August 2024 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers following a decision taken to make an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order dated 06 September 2023 permanent.
The Order, which comes into operation on 09 September 2024 will introduce a Prohibition of Driving Except for Access to Off-Street Premises or Pedal Cycles between 8.00am to 9.15am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm in Glasgow Road, Ayr Drive, Crieff Grove and Aran Drive, Jarrow for their entire lengths.
Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at the Town Hall at the address below. Alternatively, you can request a copy of the documentation by emailing kathryn.ruddy@southtyneside.gov.uk.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 21 August 2024 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
