What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC JEWISON LANE
LEVEL CROSSING, SEWERBY

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Jewison Lane Level Crossing, Sewerby and 20 metres
either side of the level crossing commencing
7 October 2024 at 22.00 hours until 06.00 hours on
8 October 2024 to allow “PL tamping to improve track
quality” works. The road closure is necessary to enable
the works to be carried out in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within eight hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Jewison Lane, Newsham Hill Lane,
Flamborough Road, Bridlington Road, Bempton Lane,
Flamborough CP, Bempton CP, Bridlington CP,
Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward,
Bridlington North Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all traffic without exception, but access will be
maintained at all times for pedestrians.
