What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MAIN STREET, HORNBY, LANCASTER CITY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Main Street, Hornby for a distance of approximately 20 metres either side of Hornby Bridge.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 2100 hours and 0600 hours from Monday 9th September 2024 until Wednesday 11th September 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. VAn alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Main Street – A683 Melling Road – Lodge Lane – B6480 Wennington Road – B6480 Hornby Road – B6480 – Wennington Road – A683 Lancaster Road – Main Street and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow bridge works to be carried out..
