What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Various Roads, Oakington and Westwick), (Speed Limits) (Consolidation), Order 202$

Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of this Order will be to: Extend the existing 20mph speed limit on Station Road, Oakington along its full length (to its junction with Oakington Road, Westwick) and to introduce a 20mph speed limit on Oakington Road (Westwick) from its junction with Station Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 154m.

To introduce a 30mph speed limit (by virtue of street lighting) on Cambridge Road from a point 473m southeast of its junction with Water Lane in a south easterly direction to its junction with New Road/Oakington Road and on Oakington Road from its junction with New Road/Cambridge Road in a south easterly direction for a distance of 176m and on the same road in the Parish of Girton from a point 176 metres southeast of its junction with New Road/Cambridge Road in a south easterly direction for a distance of 385 metres. On New Road/Gatehouse Road from its junction with Cambridge Road/Oakington Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 94m.

To introduce a 40mph speed limit on New Road (also known as Gatehouse Road) from a point 94 metres northeast of its junction with Cambridge Road/Oakington Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 252 metres and on the same road in the Parish of Histon and Impington from a point 346m northeast of its junction with Cambridge Road/Oakington Road in a north easterly direction for a distance of 310m. For administrative purposes the following Orders will be revoked, though their effects, as amended by the proposed, shall be consolidated into this Order:

Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Roads, Oakington & Westwick) (20mph zone and 40mph speed limit) Order 2022, Cambridgeshire County Council (Dry Drayton Road, Oakington) (40mph speed limit) Order 2019

Notice of Intention to Install Speed Cushions on Oakington Road, Girton and Oakington, Cambridge Road, Oakington and New Road (Gatehouse Road), Oakington

Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to install speed cushions in the Parish of Girton and Oakington in the following locations:

Oakington Road, Girton:

Location A: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 75 metres north of the southern junction with Manor Farm Road.

Location B: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 5m north of the northern junction with Manor Farm Road.

Location C: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 148m northwest of the northern junction with Manor Farm Road.

Location D: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 264m northwest of the northern junction with Manor Farm Road.

Location E: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 269m southeast of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location F: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 167m southeast of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location G 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 72m southeast of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Cambridge Road, Oakington:

Location H: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 47m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location I: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 131m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location J: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 220m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location K: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 307m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location L: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 408m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location M: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 505m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location N: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 628m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

Location O: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 723m northwest of its junction with New Road/Gatehouse Road.

New Road/Gatehouse Road, Oakington:
Location P: 1 x pair of speed cushions at a point approximately 66m northeast of its junction with Oakington Road/Cambridge Road.

All speed cushions to be 1.65m long, 2m wide, 75mm high.

(Various Roads, Girton) (Speed Limits) (Consolidation) Order 202$

Cambridgeshire County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of this Order will be to: Introduce a 20mph speed limit over the full length of the following roads in the Parish of Girton; Girton Road, Thornton Road, Thornton Close, Thornton way, Thornton Court, St Margarets Road, Wilderspin Close, Barndon Road, The Brambles and on Wellbrook Way from its junction with Girton Road in an easterly direction for 67m.

For administrative purposes the following Orders will be revoked, though their effects, as amended by the proposed, shall be consolidated into this Order: Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Roads, Girton) (20mph speed limit zone and 30mph speed limit) Order 2021, Cambridgeshire County Council (Various Roads, Girton) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2019.
