Southend-on-Sea, Temporary Prohibition & Restrictions Due To Refurbishment Works

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, WAITING, LOADING, AND UNLOADING) (TTO 2276) ORDER 2024 (SAN REMO PARADE & CLIFFS PAVILION SERVICE ROAD)

Notice is given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has proposed to make the above Order. The effect of the Order will be as follows:

  1. Southend City Council will be carrying out refurbishment works on the Cliffs Pavilion on the Cliffs Pavilion Service Road, the east end of the road and San Remo Parade (east side).

  2. The effect of the Order will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of parking, traffic, waiting, loading and unloading along the entire length of the road(s) as set out in the Table below.

  3. The Order and prohibition will come into effect on 11th September 2024 works to be completed by 31st March 2025. Where works have been completed in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, with any further extension of time being subject to the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

  4. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained during the closure period. Vehicles being used in connection with the works or for the purposes of access to or from properties adjacent to the closed roads will also be permitted.

  5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed.
