Bridgwater, Temporary Road Closures Due To Gas Works

What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Bridgwater Temporary Closure of Old Market Road and Union Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Old Market Road (9th September - 20th September 2024) - from the junction with Lower Bath Road, north-westwards for a distance of 75 metres; and Union Street (14th October 2024 - 20th December 2024) - from the junction with Bath Road, northwards for a distance of 25 metres. A total distance of 100 metres. This Order will enable Wales and West to carry out phased gas replacement works (as and when signed on site).

The Order becomes effective on 3rd September 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 9th September 2024 and last until 20th December 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 80 days.
