What is happening?
(Cycle Track between Layer Road and Fallowfield Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Cycle Track in the Borough of Colchester. From its junction with B1026 Layer Road to the junction with Fallowfield Road. The closure is scheduled to commence on 02 September 2024 to 18 October 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas mains replacement works are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via Fallowfield Road, Alamein Road, Salerno Crescent, Layer Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 02 September 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Footpath at Alyssum Walk, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath at Alyssum Walk, at the rear of number 75, in the Borough of Colchester, from the southwest boundary of number 75 Alyssum Walk for approximately 15 metres southwest. The closure is scheduled to commence on 09 September 2024 to 07 October 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure will be between 8.00am to 16:30pm The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while the retaining wall is removed and rebuilt.
The alternative route will be signed on site.
The Order will come into effect on 09 September 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(Chapel Street, Rowhedge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Street, Rowhedge in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Marsh Crescent to its junction with Head Street a distance of approximately 150m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001354400 - Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via Head Street, Marsh Crescent and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Crow Lane, Tendring) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice Is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crow Lane, Tendring in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 110m north of its junction with Hillhouse Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30091444652 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by JK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Thorpe Road, Colchester Road, Tendring Road, Thorpe Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Nayland Road for a distance of approximately 25m in an easterly direction.
2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 19 nights (19:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2346725A - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while renewal of traffic signals works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Mill Road, Northern Approach Road, Chariot Way Roundabout, North Station Roundabout, Mile End Road, Nayland Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Ravens Green, Little Bentley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice Is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ravens Green, Little Bentley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Colchester Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a north easterly direction. (The Street, Weeley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order To temporarily close that length of The Street, Weeley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Station Approach North for a distance of approximately 40m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH10004112 - Essex County Council). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order To temporarily close that length of Bounstead Hill, Layer-de-la-Haye in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Abberton Road for distance of approximately 240m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2355514 - Essex County Council). Effect of the order To temporarily close that length of Cannon Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 20m south of its junction with Barrack Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a southerly direction. Effect of the order:
Phase 1: To temporarily close that length of Serpentine Walk, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Catchpool Road to its junction with Margaret Road a distance of approximately 145m.
Phase 2: To temporarily close that length of Margaret Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Serpentine Walk for a distance of approximately 120m in a south easterly direction.
Phase 3: To temporarily close that length of Margaret Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 120m south east of its junction with Serpentine Walk to its junction with Mercers Way a distance of approximately 170m.
Phase 4: To temporarily close that length of Serpentine Walk, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction with Margaret Road to its junction with Albert Street a distance of approximately 155m and Mercers Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester from its junction with Serpentine Walk for a distance of approximately 5m in a south easterly direction.
