What is happening?
(Browns End Road, Broxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Browns End Road, Broxted in the District of Uttlesford, from both of its junction with Brick End for a distance of approximately 150m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC004WWFIWDV0 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Brick End, Church End, Moor End Lane, Maltings Bridge Lane, Muggots Lane, Water Lane, Browns End Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bury Lodge Lane, Stansted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bury Lodge Lane, Stansted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 1180m in a south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd September 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (NS004JP0070232857F83 - The Electricity Network Company Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cable works access is undertaken.
An alternative route is available via Bury Lodge Lane, Round Coppice Road, Priory Wood Roundabout, A120, Stansted Road, Pines Hill, Silver Street, Chapel Hill, Church Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Debden Road, Saffron Walden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Debden Road, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 260m south south east of its junction with Cromwell Road for a distance of approximately 209m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th September 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC4151200O1WIL16P3 - Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while underground works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Water Lane, Elder Street, Thaxted Road, Pealands Close, Pealands, Borough Lane, Hill Top Lane, Debden Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(High Street, Chrishall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of High Street, Chrishall in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 90m south west of its junction with Heydon Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (X040421020743 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ferrule renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via The Green, Crawley End Road, Mill Causeway, Heydon Lane, Chishall Road, Heydon Road, Hall Lane, Royston Road and vice versa (with access only into Hollow Road and High Street).
The Order will come into effect on 5th September 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bardfield End Green & Bardfield Road, Thaxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Bardfield End Green, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Bardfield Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a south westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Bardfield End Green, Thaxted in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Bardfield End Green for a distance of approximately 5m in a southerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2024 for 14 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0057538/APP/01 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while water connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

(Carters Hill, Manuden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Carters Hill, Manuden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Carters Hill Road to a point approximately 175m south of its junction with Chillingworth Road for a distance of approximately 175m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th September 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC41153000WLL6RY8 - Openreach). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Roman Road, Radwinter) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Roman Road, Radwinter in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 420m north east of its junction with Little Brockhold Farm for a distance of approximately 75m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX0057538/3/B - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a new connection water mains works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Top Road, Maple Lane, Walden Road and vice versa (access only into Roman Road, Princes Well and Church Hill).
The Order will come into effect on 22nd August 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.10) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Uttlesford as specified in the Schedule to this Order.
- A temporary No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be introduced for the duration of the works along the above length of road for the duration of the closure as stated in the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
