ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14

THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 17 SOUTHBOUND ENTRY SLIP ROAD AND THE NORTHBOUND EMERGENCY REFUGE AREAS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the Borough of Cheshire East, in the County of Cheshire, to enable replacement of motorway signage and other general maintenance to be carried out in safety.

The Order will impose the following on the M6 Motorway:

i. ban all traffic from the southbound entry slip road at J17 (for its full length);

ii. ban all traffic from the Emergency Refuge Area adjacent to the northbound carriageway, located 211 metres south of the Betchton Road Bridge;

iii. ban all traffic from the Emergency Refuge Area adjacent to the northbound carriageway, located 217 metres south of the Bostock House Bridge.

Prohibitions ii. and iii. are expected to take place overnight between 21:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on Monday 16 September 2024 and ending on Monday

23 September 2024.

Prohibition i. is expected to take place overnight between 21:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on Monday 23 September 2024 and ending on Friday 27 September 2024. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed.

Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway and local roads will be well signed for all traffic.

The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works or traffic officer vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
