What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U55I9 LOW MILL BRIDGE, GRASMERE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge repair works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U5519 Low Mill Bridge, Grasmere for a distance of approx. 25m either side of the centre line of the bridge. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the A591, Easedale Road and the unrestricted sections of the U5519.

The Order will come into operation on 16th September 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
