Kirkhead Road, Grange over Sands, Temporary Prohibition of All Traffic

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (KIRKHEAD ROAD, GRANGE OVER SANDS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be

carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council

intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all

traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding

along that section of Kirkhead Road, Grange over Sands from its

junction with Greaves Wood Road, extending in a north

westerly direction for approx. 250metres.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and

available via Kentsford Road, Allithwaite Road and the

unrestricted section of Kirkhead Road.

The Order will come into operation on 16th September 2024

and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen

months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the

restriction will only be required for 3 weeks and only as and

when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
