Radburn Brow - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RADBURN BROW, CLAYTON-LE-WOODS, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed in a South Easterly direction over that length of Radburn Brow, Clayton-le-Woods from A6 Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods to Radburn Close, Clayton-le-Woods.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 hours until 1530 hours on Thursday 12th September 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
A6 Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods – A6 Preston Road, Whittle-le-Woods in a Southerly direction to Royton Drive, Whittle-le-Woods roundabout – A6 Preston Road, Whittle-le-Woods in a Northerly direction from Royton Drive, Whittle-le-Woods roundabout – A6 Preston Road, Clayton-le-Woods – B5256 Westwood Road, Bamber Bridge – Sandy Lane, Clayton-le-Woods – Radburn Brow, Clayton-le-Woods.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new telegraph pole installation works to be carried out by Sunbelt Rentals UK on behalf of BT.
