What is happening?

BRIGHTON AND HOVE CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER -NEW HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICITY CABLES -VARIOUS LOCATIONS

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council have on the 28 August 2024 made an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which has the following effect:-

In Phases, in force as and when signed

(a) The Temporary Closure of Livingstone Road, from Sackville Road to Goldstone Road.

(b) The Temporary Closure of Livingstone Road, from Goldstone Road to Goldstone Villas.

(c) The temporary southwest Closure of Furze Hill, for its entire length.

(d) The temporary southbound closure of Goldstone Villas, from Livingstone Road to Eaton Villas.

(e) The temporary closure of Montgomery Street, from Shelley Road to Rutland Road.

(f) The temporary closure of Montgomery Street, from Rutland Road to Westbourne Street.

(g) The temporary closure of Montgomery Street, from Westbourne Street to St Patricks Road.

(h) The temporary closure of Montgomery Street, from St Patricks Road to Sackville Road.

(i) The temporary Westbound Closure of Lansdowne Road, from Palmeira Avenue to Furze Hill.

(j) The temporary southbound closure of Palmeira Avenue, from Crown Close to Lansdowne Road.

(k) The temporary closure of Holland Road, at its junction with Lansdowne Road.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to install new High Voltage electricity cables in the carriageway, footway and verge.

3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.

4. This Order comes into force on 2 September 2024 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 30 November 2024.
