What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7710 Rickney Road, Westham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rickney Road – from the junction with C708 Glynleigh Road to the junction with U7711 Rickney Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7711 Rickney Lane – C411 Saltmarsh Lane – B2104 Ersham Road, Hailsham Road – C708 Glynleigh Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7103 Bay Tree Lane, Polegate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Bay Tree Lane – from the junction with A22 Hailsham Road to Bramley Farm.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via U7103 Bay Tree Lane – A22 Hailsham Road – A27 Cop Hall roundabout – A22 Hailsham Road – U7103 Bay Tree Lane and northbound via U7103 Bay Tree Lane – A22 Hailsham Road, Polegate Road, Arlington Eagles roundabout, Polegate Road, Hailsham Road – U7103 Bay Tree Lane.

The Order commences 19 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 and 20 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A259 St Anthonys Avenue,

Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under

Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

St Anthonys Avenue – from the junction with A259 Langney roundabout to the junction with U2188 Wallis Avenue.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic eastbound via A259 Pevensey Bay Road, Eastbourne Road, Richmond Road, Wallsend Road, Bexhill Road – A27(T) Pevensey bypass – A22 Golden Jubilee Way, Highfield Link – A2290 Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside and westbound via A259 Seaside – A2290 Lottbridge Drove – A22 Highfield Link, Golden Jubilee Way – A27(T) Pevensey bypass – A259 Bexhill Road, Wallsend Road, Eastbourne Road, Pevensey Bay Road.

The Order commences 5 September 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs on 5 and 6 September 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
