What is happening?

M2 MOTORWAY – JUNCTIONS 5 TO 7 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS


Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has varied The M2 Motorway (Junctions 5 to 7) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024(a),
originally made on 24th July 2024.


The effect of the Order is to authorise the full weekend closure of both carriageways the M2 between Junction 5 (A249) and Junction 7 (A2/A299), and all slip roads leading to and from this length of carriageway.


The overnight closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00. The full weekend closures will take place between 20:00 on Fridays and 06:00 on Mondays (maximum period). Please see National Highways website for details.


The Order will come into force on 6th September 2024 ceasing when the works are complete.


Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A249, M20, A28 and the A2 in both directions.


The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
