Coal Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Fibre Works
What is happening?
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1) U8156 COAL ROAD GUNNERTON (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U8156 Coal Road Gunnerton starting 115 metres north of its junction with C218 and heading north for a length of 120 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 2nd September 2024 until the 13th September 2024. It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 2nd September 2024 until the 6th September 2024, and that it will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 13th September 2024. The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C215, C216, C218, U8156 and vice-versa.

The closure has been requested by B4RN to open cut to facilitate new fibre broadband. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
