What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

B2008 High Street, Minster-on-sea, ME12 2TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow replacement street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2008 High Street, Minster-on-sea, from 22.00 hours on 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 04.00 hours on 10th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of numbers 12-14, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via B2008 Minster Road, Barton Hill Drive, A2500 Lower Road, A2500 Forty Acres Hill, B2008 Eastchurch Road, B2008 Chequers Road, B2008 High Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Borden Lane, Borden, ME9 8HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow utility repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Borden Lane, Borden, from 23rd September 2024, with estimated completion by 24th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Borden Lane, A2 London Road, Key Street, Key Street Roundabout, Chestnut Street, Maidstone Road, Oad Street, Pond Farm Road, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ferry Road, Iwade, ME9 8TY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ferry Road, Iwade, on or after 9th September 2024, with estimated completion by 4th October 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between School Lane and Grovehurst Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sheppey Way, Bobbing Roundabout, A249, Kingsferry Roundabout, Sheppey Way, The Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Salters Lane, Faversham. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

For safety reasons, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Salters Lane, Faversham, from 24th September 2024, with estimated completion by 23rd March 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Salters Lane, Faversham will be imposed between A2 Canterbury Road and the Household Waste Site, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

Various Roads - Graveney & Boughton under Blean.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow street cleansing and litter picking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Graveney & Boughton under Blean.

This Order takes effect on or after 23rd September 2024, for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be indicated by signage dispayed on site 14 days before the works start.

SCHEDULE

Brenley Lane, Boughton under Blean

The road will be closed from the junction with South Street to the junction with Selling Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Brenley Lane, Clockhouse Lane, Selling Road and vice versa.

Homestall Lane, Graveney

The road will be closed from the junction with Whitstable Road to the junction with Brenley Corner Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Graveney Road, B2040 Love Lane, A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout and vice versa.

 

Various Roads - Isle of Sheppey.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow street cleansing and litter picking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads on the Isle of Sheppey.

This Order takes effect on or after 23rd September 2024, for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be indicated by signage dispayed on site 14 days before the works start.

SCHEDULE

Warden Road, Eastchurch

The road will be closed from the junction with Thorn Hill Road to the junction with High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Warden Road, High Street, A2500 Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, Plough Road and vice versa.

For vehicles wishing to travel between Plough Road and Thorn Hill Road, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Plough Road, Eastchurch

The road will be closed from the junction with Warden Road to the junction with Eastchurch Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Warden Road, High Street, A2500 Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Plough Road and vice versa.

Elm Lane, Minster

The road will be closed from the junction with Scocles Road to the junction with Chequers Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Scocles Road, Back Lane, B2008 High Street, Chapel Street, Chequers Road and vice versa.

Oak Lane, Minster

The road will be closed from the junction with Chequers Road to the junction with Plough Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

 

Various Roads - Lower Halstow, Bobbing, Upchurch, Hartlip, Iwade & Newington.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow street cleansing and litter picking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Lower Halstow, Bobbing, Upchurch, Hartlip, Iwade & Newington.

The road will be closed from the junction with Sheppey Way to the junction with Stickfast Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Stickfast Lane, Sheppey Way and vice versa.

Stickfast Lane, Bobbing

The road will be closed from the junction with Sheppey Way to the junction with Iwade Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sheppey Way, A2 Key Street Roundabout, A2 Keycol Hill, High Street, Church Lane, Iwade Road and vice versa.

Raspberry Hill Lane, Iwade

The road will be closed from the junction with Old Ferry Road to the junction with Basser Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Basser Hill, School Lane, The Street, Old Ferry Road and vice versa.

Breach Lane, Upchurch

The road will be closed from the junction with Hartlip Hill to the junction with The Street/Forge Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 Hartlip Hill, London Road, Moor Street, Otterham Quay Lane, Horsham Lane, The Street, Forge Lane, Halstow Lane (Forge Lane) and vice versa.

Old Ferry Road, Iwade

The road will be closed from the junction with The Street to the Kingsferry Roundabout, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Sheppey Way.

Basser Hill, Lower Halstow

The road will be closed from the junction with Iwade Road to the junction with Raspberry Hill Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via School Lane, The Street, Old Ferry Road, Raspberry Hill and vice versa.

Wardwell Lane & Vicarage Lane, Lower Halstow

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via School Lane, Boxted Lane, Breach Lane, The Street (Forge Lane), Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Callaways Lane, Newington

The road will be closed from the junction with High Street to the junction with Bull Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Spade Lane, Hartlip

The road will be closed from the junction with Meresborough Lane to the junction with A2 London Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, South Bush Lane, Meresborough Road and vice versa.

 

Various Roads - Rodmersham, Teynham, Tonge, Sittingbourne, Norton & Lynsted.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2024

To allow street cleansing and litter picking works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Rodmersham, Teynham, Tonge, Sittingbourne, Norton & Lynsted.

This Order takes effect on or after 23rd September 2024, for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be indicated by signage dispayed on site 14 days before the works start.

SCHEDULE

Cromers Road, Sittingbourne

The road will be closed from the junction with Highsted Road to the junction with Ruins Barn Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Highsted Road, Brenchley Road, Bell Road, Woodstock Road and vice versa.

Lynsted Lane, Lynsted

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road to the junction with Claxfield Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Chequers Hill, Doddington Lane, Christophers Row, The Street and vice versa.

Dully Road, Tonge

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road to the junction with Kingsdown Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Kingsdown Road, Christophers Row, The Street, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Hempstead Lane, Tonge

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road to the junction with Lower Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A2 London Road, Station Road, Lower Road and vice versa.

Lewson Street Road, Norton

The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Norton Lane, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Norton Lane, Norton

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road to the junction with Homestall Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Straight Hill, Faversham Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Lower Norton Lane, Teynham

The road will be closed from the junction with A2 London Road to the junction with Lower Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lower Road, Station Road, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Bottles Lane, Rodmersham

The road will be closed from the junction with Stockers Hill to the junction with Cheney Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Cheney Hill, Highstead Valley, Stockers Hill, Rodmersham Green and vice versa.

Highsted Valley, Rodmersham

The road will be closed from the junction with Stockers Hill to the junction with Bottom Pond Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Cromers Road, Ruins Barn Road, Broad Oak Road, Bottom Pond Road and vice versa.
